This was a fun and challenging project. The client, Rhean Manaktala, proposed a classic, elegant English wedding as the theme, but with an Indian twist. This in itself was the biggest challenge, the fusion of English clean and simple, with Indian bold and vibrant is hard to achieve. I did this by creating a print inspired by the paisley patterns often seen in Indian design, and placed it with a classic grey, navy and blush palette. I used one of the paisley elements from the print to create a logo for the couple. This could then be used throughout all the wedding stationery. I chose an elegant script font and paired it with a readable old style serif in small caps. The final result was a full range of stationery that reflected the diverse nature of the couple and tied in beautifully with the day itself.

Having a multicultural wedding meant we had two of everything – first for the white wedding, then for the Indian! Charis instinctively made sense of my mess of ideas, creating a stunning fusion of mine and my husband’s cultures. She took care of everything, from invites to table numbers, from bridesmaids’ dress tags to our monogram. She advised on colours, designs, and helped me to realise what precisely I wanted. I couldn’t recommend a more bespoke designer for wedding stationary!Rhean Manaktala
